Model History
The reference 9219 series belongs to the earliest generation of Hamilton Khaki watches offered to civilian customers. According to the original accompanying booklet, the model was conceived as the civilian counterpart - and near-exact twin - of the Hamilton Khaki watch developed for the United States military.
Its compact dimensions, highly legible 12/24-hour dial, bead-blasted stainless-steel case and hacking-seconds function all reflect this military heritage. Hamilton originally promoted the watch for hiking, camping, boating, fishing and other outdoor activities, while also presenting it as a practical everyday watch.
This uncommon version was produced in collaboration with Orvis, the renowned American outdoor outfitter. The Hamilton and Orvis names both appear on the dial, making it an especially interesting piece for collectors of early Khaki models and retailer-signed watches.

Condition
The watch is presented in attractive vintage condition. Its stainless-steel case retains the characteristic matt, bead-blasted finish, with light scratches and small marks consistent with age and careful use.
The original black dial remains clear and highly legible. The luminous hour plots have developed a warm, naturally aged patina, with some deterioration and material loss visible around several markers. The khaki-green hands complement the military character of the watch; a small area of paint is missing from the hour hand, as shown in the photographs.
The acrylic crystal has been replaced and is new and free from scratches. The watch is fitted with a new khaki-green textile strap.
The original Hamilton Khaki cardboard box, fabric pouch and booklet are included. The box displays visible age-related wear.
The ETA 2750 hand-wound movement has been serviced, and the watch is supplied with a 6-month guarantee on functionality from the date of purchase. The original booklet describes the watch as water-resistant to the relevant US Government standards of its period; however, its current water resistance has not been tested and is not guaranteed.
