The Seiko Landmaster series was introduced in the early 1990s as part of Seiko’s professional adventure watch lineup, designed specifically for explorers, mountaineers, and extreme outdoor environments. Unlike the brand’s diver-focused Prospex models, the Landmaster line was developed as a land-expedition tool watch, incorporating navigation-oriented features and highly robust case constructions.
This reference 5M45-6A01 belongs to the early generation of Landmaster models powered by Seiko’s innovative AGS (Automatic Generating System) technology, later known as Kinetic. The system converts the motion of the wearer’s wrist into electrical energy, stored in a capacitor to power a quartz movement. This concept combined the autonomy of an automatic watch with the accuracy of quartz.
The watch features a one-piece titanium monobloc case, a construction chosen for maximum durability and improved water resistance, along with a compass bezel designed to assist with navigation during expeditions. With its distinctive textured black/burgundy dial, GMT functionality, and lightweight titanium construction, the Landmaster AGS GMT represents one of Seiko’s most interesting late-1990s professional tool watches.

Condition
This watch is in very nice overall condition. The titanium case and bracelet show only light signs of wear consistent with careful use. The original sapphire crystal is scratch-free, and the textured dial with its deep black/burgundy tone remains excellent and well preserved.
The 5M45 Kinetic movement has been serviced and fitted with a new capacitor, ensuring reliable performance. The watch retains its original full-length bracelet with spare links.
It is offered as a full set, including the original Seiko Landmaster box and papers.
