Universal Genève has long been regarded as one of the most refined Swiss watch manufacturers of the 20th century. Founded in 1894 in Le Locle, the brand built its reputation on elegant design and high-quality in-house movements, producing iconic models that are today highly appreciated by collectors.
During the 1960s and 1970s, Universal Genève experimented with more artistic dial materials, including stone dials such as lapis lazuli, onyx, and malachite. These watches were produced in relatively small numbers and were intended as luxurious jewelry-like timepieces. Lapis lazuli dials are especially prized because each stone dial is unique in texture and colour.
This particular example features a striking lapis lazuli “spiderweb” dial, where natural mineral veining creates a distinctive web-like pattern across the deep blue stone surface. Combined with the elegant stainless steel case and original bracelet, it represents a beautiful example of Universal Genève’s refined ladies’ watches from the period.

This watch is in very nice vintage condition. The stainless steel case remains well preserved with only light signs of wear consistent with age. The distinctive lapis lazuli dial is visually striking and retains its beautiful natural texture and colour. The watch is fitted with a new, scratch-free crystal.
