Model History
The Seiko 5 line was introduced in 1963 and quickly became one of the most successful automatic watch series ever produced. The “5” in the name refers to five key features that defined the concept: an automatic movement, day-date display, water resistance, a recessed crown at 4 o’clock, and a durable case and bracelet.
The Seiko 5 Sports variants were designed as the sportier branch of the Seiko 5 family. These watches typically feature more robust cases, bold bezels, strong lume, and higher water resistance compared to standard Seiko 5 models. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, Seiko produced a wide variety of these sporty automatic watches powered by the extremely reliable 7S26 movement, which became one of the most widely used automatic calibres in modern watchmaking.
This reference 7S26-01G0 represents a classic early-2000s Seiko 5 Sports design, combining a clean white dial, bold applied indices with strong lume, and a distinctive steel bezel. Condition
This watch is in very nice overall condition. The stainless steel case and bezel show moderate signs of wear consistent with normal use, while remaining well preserved overall. The white dial is clean and attractive, and the applied indices with luminous material remain intact and functional. The watch is fitted with a new, scratch-free crystal and retains its original Seiko stainless steel bracelet, suitable for wrists up to approximately 20 cm.
The 7S26 automatic movement has been serviced and runs properly. The watch is offered without box and papers.
